How to take a screen shot in Windows

If you contact the ParaChat Support team, they may request that you provide a screen shot that demonstrates the issue you are having.  Here's how:

Step 1. You can take a picture of what is on your entire screen by pressing the PRINT SCREEN button on your keyboard (also PRTSC or PRTSCN button on some keyboards).  This is called a "screen capture".

If you only want to take a screen shot of your active window instead of the entire screen, just hold the ALT key on your keyboard before pressing PRINT SCREEN.

Step 2. Open Microsoft Paint. To open Paint, open the Start menu, click on "All Programs", click on "Accessories", and then click on "Paint".

Step 3. Paste the screen shot into Paint by clicking the "Select" tool along the top bar, and choosing "Rectangular Select". Right-click on the canvas and select "Paste" (or hold down the CTRL key and press the V key to paste). Your screenshot will be pasted onto the canvas.  You could also paste your screen shot into other programs like Microsoft Word or into an email.

Step 4. To save your screen shot, click on File, then select "Save As..."  Type in a file name, choose to save the screen shot to your desktop, then click Save.

Step 5.  Attach the screenshot to the email you send to our Support Team, or attach it to a Support Ticket you open while logged into your account.
